The Miss Afro Diaspora Finland was founded in December 2019 and on the 21st of November 2020, history was made in Finland as large number of people attended the grand final night. The pageant was founded with the purpose of giving young black ladies born or living in Finland a platform to showcase not only their beauty but most importantly their culture, talent, and creativity. To encourage them to be more confident, more assertive, and goal-driven. This year, application is totally free of charge.
The winner of the 2022 edition will be gifted an all-expense-paid trip to a beautiful tourist attraction city in Europe, including hotel accommodation for 7 days. Two nights at Sokos Hotel Tallinn, Magazine front cover and loads of beauty care products.
You are black (at least one parent).
You are legally resident in Finland.
You are 18 years old and above.
You are not pregnant at the time of Application.
Finalists must not have posed nude, topless, or been involved in any public show of indecency.
The finalists must be without a criminal record.
If you win the beauty pageant, you will return your crown after your reign or pay €100 to keep it. The sash will be yours for keeps.
RULES AND STANDARDS
Contestants will be required to sign a contract that will govern their behaviour and conduct before, during, and after the pageant.
Any contestant who withdraws from the competition after she has made it to the top 10 finalists will have to pay the sum of €2500 to the organizers for the inconvenience the withdrawal may have caused.
Applicant understands and agrees that Miss Afro Diaspora Finland organizers shall determine all issues as to eligibility to compete and the contestant must agree to abide by that determination both as to themselves and other applicants.
Contestants will be expected to partake in all rounds of the competition (talent, cultural, swimsuit, and evening wear round)
Entry forms must be filled in with names as they are on passports, etc., and not assumed or professional names.
There must be nothing in the contestant’s background that could bring into disrepute any aspect of the contest or its sponsors.
As a contestant, you are prohibited to post or say anything that discredits the reputation of the organisation as this attracts legal implications.
By entering the selection process and ultimately the contest, a contestant grants the organizers or the sponsors of the event, the free and unfettered right to use her name, photographs, voice, likeness, recommendations, etc., relating to the contest, its title, or any such connection between the contestant and the contest or title in any way it sees fit for advertising or sales promotions purposes, providing such use is not in a manner to cause harm to the contestant’s reputation or name. Contestants or their families will not enter into any disagreement following the event final with any other contestants or judges regarding the judges’ decision.
The organizers reserves the right to substitute, add to or alter any item on the list of prizes offered before the Finals of the Contest. All prizes won by the contestant during the contest shall not be transferable or exchangeable for cash.
As a contestant, you are not allowed to participate or get involved in any beauty or promotional show elsewhere
In the event of any dispute over the execution, rules, or results of the contest, the decision of the adjudicator or judges is final. Miss Afro Diaspora Finland indemnifies itself from and can not be held responsible for any decisions made by the judging panel.
