Obi-West Utchaychukwu is a Nigerian from the Igbo extraction. He was born and raised up in Benin city, Edo State, Nigeria. He studied International relation in the university and he also has a certificate in the French language. He moved to Finland 7 years ago and since then, he has been able to carve out a niche for himself in the field of journalism due to his penchant for literal excellence. While in Nigeria, he had a stint with a media firm and he has written several interesting articles which borders on governance, travel, health and religion. Most of his articles were published by major media houses in Nigeria. He is an influential African in Finland and a well-known community leader.
He is the CEO of Diaspora Reporters, an online media agency that was established two years ago with the mandate of keeping online readers abreast of the latest news around the world. He is also the publisher and editor in chief of Diaspora Glitz Magazine, an inspiring high-end hard copy celebrity, lifestyle, people and event magazine. The magazine’s niche is the Afro diaspora community of Finland. The quarterly magazine was launched in 2019 and since then it has strived to present highly-focused issues affecting foreigners in Finland and Europe at large.
The magazine is fast becoming a platform where people from minority backgrounds could express their views. The magazine has maintained consistency, focus, and enviable print quality and content which has made it a sought after magazine. The vision of the magazine is to become Europe’s No1 afro magazine. He won the best media awards at the Afrofinns Achievement Awards in November 2019.
